This is the year 2021 and we’re still pretty much glued to our screens in terms of work and entertainment. And while it’s always good to go outside as much as possible, there are times when we just need to sit back and relax with a cup of tea and a good TV show. 2021 is about to bring us some incredibly entertaining shows of all genres. Here’s the crème de la crème of the most anticipated TV shows of the year.

Loki

Fans have been craving to see a TV show or a movie dedicated to Loki alone for years now. Due to the talented acting of Tom Hiddleston and the gorgeously mischievous nature of the character himself, Loki has more fans than all the good guys from the Marvel Universe combined! Well, maybe a little bit less, but still a lot. Some of you might argue that Loki is gone for good, but that’s when the Alternative Universe trick comes in! Another Loki is roaming the Universe out there and he’s having a bunch of adventures of his own.

The Nevers

Joss Whedon, creator of the 90s hit show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, is back with yet another cool story about people with unusual powers. This time the plot will take place in Victorian era, where a bunch of women “get touched” by some unusual force that grants them incredible powers. Some might argue that the whole premise looks similar to X-Men set in a different timeline, but is that really a bad thing? We’ll have to wait and see!

Foundation

All sci-fi fans are in for a huge treat this year as they get to see the screen adaptation of Foundation, a book series written by the legend of the sci-fi genre Isaac Asimov. Starring Lee Pace and Jared Harris, this epic cosmic saga spans across one thousand years, telling the story of a Galactic Empire stretching through the whole Milky Way, a dire prediction about the future, and a bunch of people trying not to prevent a catastrophe of Universal proportions, but to make it slightly less horrifying for everyone involved The trailer looks like a real work of art!

Shadow and Bone

If you’ve never heard of Leigh Bardugo’s trilogy “Shadow and Bone” now may be the best time to read it in one go! This dark and adventurous fantasy drama has it all – mind-bending plot twists, likeable characters, bad guys that you can’t but fall in love with, and an evil force that has to be battled by a girl with some unusual abilities. It might sound a bit cheeky, but once you watch the trailer you’ll see just how stunning the whole premise is. The show starts in April, so there’s still some time to check out the books.

The Book of Boba Fett

If you’re a fan of the Star Wars Universe, you’ve probably already watched the adventurous Mandalorian show that has captivated thousands of fans all over the world. Well, Star Wars fans will meet yet another old friend – bounty hunter Boba Fett, a character from “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back” that hit the screens back in the 80s. He has cool armour and even cooler martial art skills, and that’s definitely something we like to see in the main character.
