First of all, you don’t need to be a vegan to enjoy all those delicious recipes that keep popping up on the Internet. Veganism has become such a huge trend that even people who aren’t actually vegan like to incorporate vegan meals in their diet. And why not? Vegan dishes are incredibly healthy, they use lots of greens, fruits, and various add-ons for some extra fibre and vitamins. Whether you’ve already tapped into vegan cuisine or simply want to give it a try, here’s an easy vegan smoothie recipe that will definitely become your new favourite.
In vegan recipes, you will not find any dairy products, which presents an interesting opportunity to try some of those peculiar nut-based kinds of milk that have been all the rage for the last few years.
If you still haven’t figured out your favourite then we suggest you go with the recipe and just use almond milk as a base for this delicious smoothie. Apart from that, you will need a bunch of mixed berries (you can use frozen ones if it’s not the season yet), bananas, flaxseeds, some peanut butter, and spinach – the king of all greens.
It’s best to use a previously frozen medium-sized banana, then you will get the best texture and the smoothie will also be pleasantly cool. Mix banana slices with two cups of spinach, one tbsp. of organic peanut butter, half a cup of frozen berries, half a cup of almond milk, and one tbsp. of flaxseeds in a blender. Then blend until the smoothie is ready! You can add more milk if the smoothie is too thick or more banana slices (or berries) if it’s too thin. Enjoy your wonderful green vegan smoothie!
